Family Love.

July 5, 2011-Family love. I watched the mother deer and her daughter eating for about 10 minutes. The son was off across the street eating, as soon as he came into the yard, I got to watch the most beautiful thing. The mother deer started licking (grooming) both siblings and vice versa, this went on for several minutes. After each had a turn and were satisfied they met up with the two other deer that stand watch and proceeded deeper into the woods. (186/365)

April 2, 2011-Ren was feeling a bit neglected, and he wanted me to take his picture and use it for the dailies. “He said he had something neat to show everyone. He said his best friend besides Treeson, is his wagon; he can use it to haul anything and he never leaves the house without his backpack. His backpack is very special, it contains his secrets and because it holds his secrets he won't show me or anyone what is inside. Oh and he forgot to add Panda as his best friend too. April 1, 2011-Eating for two - This doe appears pregnant; if she actually is pregnant, May or June she should be arriving with a little one. Her son from 2010 is still in the group, she chased him away from the apple a few minutes after this. Day 91:365 @sharkbayte

Bambi and Thumper

March 5, 2011-Bambi and Thumper, well not quite, this cat and the deer are used to each other. I have seen the cats walk through the center of the deer herd as they are foraging for food. The deer sometimes get startled if the cats chase each other but not enough fright to flee. (Day 64 #365project @sharkbayte)

As I was coming out the door, I saw a commotion out the corner of my eye. The buck entered the yard and scared the does away. By the time I turned my chair around to get a better look he was gone. The next yard over had activity of some sort and he got spooked. (2010.11.29)

Bossy Bear and Crocadoca were the early risers so they posed for the 10.10.10 shot. We had to be up and shooting at 6:10am for Universal time. Long day and my internet connection has a mind of it's own. I spend more time trying to post and stay connected than I do online. frustrating!!!

Day 264-trying something different

I am trying something new this week. I will be alternating between 3 lenses I haven't used in a while because nothing gets my pics as sharp as my 100.0mm. I got spoiled with that so today I used my EF 28-135mm IS USM lens.

While I was focusing on the other deer in front of me, she came around on the side of me. Looks like she was posing for me. The deer shots are in my backyard.

She came within ten feet of me.
