Giant Robber Fly Species Promachus rufipes Red footed Cannibalfly

August 3, 2011 - This is a giant robber fly "Species Promachus rufipes Red footed Cannibalfly". He landed on the leaf above where I was shooting the red dragonfly, he seemed to be checking out what was going on, I snapped this and he took off. (215:365)

Two shots today. Day 98

April 8, 2011-This large Eastern Carpenter bee and company have set up house on the ramp, right outside my door. Whenever I come out there they hover on either side of me and then start to chase each other and sometimes me off the ramp. I have been trying to capture them but the minute I focus on them they fly off. Not today!

The Waxing Crescent Moon, last night’s moon was only four days old. I try to capture the moon as early as I can. I was trying for a two and three day old moon, but I wasn't able to with the weather conditions. So this is the earliest I can get for this cycle. (Day 98:365 @sharkbayte)

I found this Nursery Web Spider (Pusaurina mira) on this plant. At a fast glance while rolling by I thought it was a pine needle or a leaf, as I got closer I can certainly tell my spidy senses were on! LOL! #365Project Day 297 (2010.10.24) @sharkbayte

Snack time.

Snack time...For a Katydid. These yellow flowers were today's meal. I have some where the flower is in his mouth. I'll post those later. I am not sure if it's my compture as this looks dull and the colors seem off from my screen. So I need to find out what is going on. Day 290 #365Project (2010.10.17) @sharkbayte

A wildflower and guest

These tiny flowers were loaded with these very small wasps. I am not sure what these are called but they are very tiny and line the pathway into the woods. day 286:365 (2010.10.13) @sharkbayte

The Lady Bug and Company

Just dropping in to say hello.
If you can view the top photo in full view you can see a lot of detail. Some of the sites I post to such as Facebook and here on blogger you cannot see a full size verison of my shots so these small sizes don't show much detail. I believe on my flickr or smugmug site you can see more details on my pictures.

Side view of the grasshopper. These are all macro shots, he was very tiny. But the lens makes it look much larger. It was very hot and humid again today so I only stayed out about 15 minutes if that. My lupus gets worse with the sun and UV lights, so I try not to over do it when outside. With the heat and humidity I wonder when it will start to get down into the 70's or even 80's would be some relief!!

Keeping it in the dark.
